What is the environmental impact of a cup of Biocaffè Haiti Roma?

     On June 2015 DIBAF (the Department for Innovation in Biological Agro-food and Forest system) -Tuscia University, has carried out a research on BioCaffè Haiti Roma, as part of the project PSR mis124 called "Sustainability of regional agricultural food chain: companies from Lazio towards Expo Milan 2015" and supported by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development; the result's conformity has been certified by BioAgricert, the Certification and Control Body of Organic productions.


The aim of this research was to analyze with standard methods the environmental impact of BioCaffè 100% Organic 100% Fairtrade in the following sizes: 1 kg, 250 g and in box with 18 single-dose pods, throughout the whole production process, from the harvest to the coffee tasting (Life Cycle Assessment). The report has revealed that drinking a cup of BioCaffè Haiti Roma means driving for almost 250 mt by car. Surely an interesting result, if we consider all the elements that contribute to the carbon footprint statement of a product, and that highlight once again the virtuous path of the company.


Once again Caffè Haiti Roma demonstrates its ability to be careful and at the forefront about the possible improvements in its production line. As the old and famous Arabian saying goes "If you want to know the quality of a product you are purchasing, look at who produces it."
